INFANT SINGERS
INFANT SINGERS is a singing group for children aged between 5 and 7 years old. (Year 1 - Year 2)
In our weekly sessions we use a combination of singing, movement and game play to support cognitive, language and motor skills with a huge emphasis on fun!
Our weekly class has many benefits for children’s development and well-being whilst providing opportunities to learn and enjoy music. It's never too early to start singing with children and it has been proven that singing helps to develop literacy, concentration and memory.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
At this age the emphasis is placed on a subconscious learning style through musical games and fun activities! Your child will enjoy playing circle games, singing songs, playing with puppets, bouncing balls, playing instruments and much more which are all focused musical activities to offer your child a progressive method of musical learning.
CHOIR STAFF
SINGING LEADER: Matthew Roughley
A highly experienced music educator who has worked with some of the UK's leading arts organisations including; The Halle Children's Choir, Opera North Children's Choir and the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain. Matthew is highly trained in delivering fun and engaging early years and KS1 music lessons.
CHOIR COORDINATOR: Lynne Sarkissian
WHAT TO EXPECT?
A fun, friendly environment where your child can learn great music, develop new skills, make new friends and increase their confidence through our professional musical training.
ACCESSIBILITY
SYC is here for every child who wants to sing which means there are no auditions and no previous experience is necessary.
Our staff are experts in working with young voices and will get the best out of every member of SYC.
Our rehearsal venue is fully accessible and parents can choose to stay in our waiting area during rehearsal time or drop off and pick up their child at the end.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
Membership is £4 per rehearsal which is paid online at the beginning of each term or half term.
Your first rehearsal is free!
We want every child to be able to access our choirs no matter their financial circumstance so please contact us if you require assistance with membership fees.
