Max MacMillan
Accompanist
Max graduated from the University of Manchester in 2021, taking piano as a first study instrument and graduating with a first class degree. He is currently based in Manchester, working as an accompanist, photographer and actor.
Max began learning the piano in 2007, completing his LTCL diploma in 2017 with a distinction. Alongside his solo work as a pianist, he has worked in a number of organisations as a repetiteur and accompanist. In 2020, he acted as repetiteur for the University of Manchester’s production of Jonathan Dove’s ‘The Enchanted Pig’, a production that was subsequently included in the 2021 programme of the Buxton International Opera Festival, with an extended number of performances.
Max works as a freelance accompanist for many choirs around Greater Manchester, including an extended run as the resident accompanist for Mydel Ladies Choir in Macclesfield. Max also works as a freelance filmmaker, having made multiple music videos and promotional material for local musicians in Manchester.
